ASHTON, Julian Richard; (born Sydney, 1913, died 2001). Seascape Painter and Teacher. Son of Julian Howard Ashton, (1877 – 1964), and Grandson of Julian Rossi Ashton, (1851 – 1942). He and his wife ran the Julian Ashton School from 1963. He was a War Artist, (Military History Section), World War II: Art and Publicity Officer for NSW Department of Tourist Activities and Immigration, 1948. He won the Mosman Prize, 1953. His Art is represented in the Australian National Gallery, Canberra, Art Gallery of NSW, Australian War Memorial, and many Private Collections around Australia.
MURPHY, Kate; (Katherine Mary), (born Ferntree Gully, Victoria 1987), Grew up in Bunyip, Gippsland. Kate has been painting and drawing, since she was a child. She studied Art for VCE, and did a Bachelor of Visual Arts, at Latrobe University, Bendigo which was completed in 2008. She was a founding member of Ya Connect Group, formed in 2009. This was for Young Artists in Gippsland.
